"Making art is like cracking a code"
My creative inspirations are broad, originating in images I have scavenged from a wide range of sources. Maps, diagrams, pattern, calligraphic, botanical, ethnographic and vernacular imagery. I combine disparate elements, patterns, textures and colors in a strategy that defines the exploration of pictorial and psychological space. A reordering of incongruent visual ideas creating complex collages which explore the abstract language of mark making. The work emerges through a succession of intuitive decisions guided by the internal logic of each composition.
